About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Vessel Maintenance Engineer to join our team at Marathon Petroleum in Catlettsburg, Kentucky.

Job Summary:

The Vessel Maintenance Engineer will be responsible for providing onsite project support during vessel outages and collaborating with port engineers to enhance maintenance strategies. This role involves hands-on training for various vessel tasks and supports the development of maintenance procedures to align with vessel engineers' needs.

Main Responsibilities:

  1. Provide onsite project support for all vessel outages, ensuring compliance with the Marine Drydock Standard.
  2. Collaborate with Port Engineers on evaluating new technology and developing recommendations for improvement.
  3. Support Vessel Engineers and other maintenance-related positions within Marine by providing hands-on training for various vessel tasks.
  4. Develop and revise maintenance procedures and work instructions to ensure proper alignment to the role of Vessel Engineer, and for outage-related tasks.
  5. Represent Marine by attending external trade shows, conferences, and training courses as needed.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Ability to obtain a Transportation Workers Identification Credential (TWIC) card required.
  • Up to 60% of travel may be required.
  • Mid-Career (4-10 Years) relevant experience preferred.

Benefits and Compensation:

The estimated salary for this position is between $80,000 and $110,000 per year, depending on experience. Additionally, we offer a total rewards program which includes access to health, vision, and dental insurance, paid time off, 401k matching program, paid parental leave, and educational reimbursement. We also offer a discretionary company-sponsored annual bonus program.
