Job Title: Child Watch Staff

Are you passionate about working with children and making a positive impact on their lives? We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Child Watch Staff to join our team at the YMCA.

Job Summary:

The Child Watch Staff will be responsible for supervising a group of children, planning and implementing culturally relevant and developmentally appropriate program activities, and maintaining accurate and timely records. The ideal candidate will have previous experience working with children, a high school diploma or equivalent, and be at least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities:
  • Supervise a group of children while adhering to program standards, including safety and cleanliness
  • Plan and implement program activities that promote learning and development
  • Attend staff meetings and trainings to stay up-to-date on program policies and procedures
  • Maintain accurate and timely records of children's activities and progress
  • Follow YMCA policies and procedures at all times
  • Maintain positive relationships with parents and other staff members
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience working with children
  • At least 18 years of age
  • Previous experience with diverse populations preferred
Physical Demands:
  • Ability to plan, lead, and participate in a range of activities in various settings
  • Walking, stooping, standing, hearing, seeing, lifting up to 50 pounds
Training:
  • CPR, First Aid, AED, and O2 certifications required within the first 30 days of employment
  • New Employee Orientation required within the first week of employment
