Position Title:

Aquatics Operations Manager – Reports to: General Manager FLSA Status: Exempt Full-time position: minimum of 40 hours per week, including evenings and weekends required.

Overview:
The Aquatics Operations Manager is responsible for ensuring the excellence and success of the aquatic programs at Gilbride Management Group (GMG). This role includes overseeing daily operations such as safety protocols, staffing, pool management, swim lesson quality, customer service, and employee engagement.


Key Responsibilities:
1. Direct and manage daily operations to ensure compliance with GMG standard operating procedures.

2. Assist the General Manager and department heads in executing daily tasks.

3. Supervise GSS staff to promote high productivity, outstanding performance, and positive employee morale.

4. Foster employee engagement to sustain a high level of job satisfaction and a positive company culture.

5. Oversee training and development within the aquatics department to ensure superior swim instruction aligned with GMG standards.

6. Collaborate with all aquatic staff on operational matters, including class scheduling, student progress, and customer experiences.

7. Maintain and troubleshoot pool chemistry and pump room operations effectively.


8. Acquire extensive knowledge and experience in GMG pool operations to uphold a safe and sanitary swimming environment.

9. Conduct evaluations for all instructors and assess trainees before they begin independent teaching.


10. Implement and oversee the Emergency Action Plan and all safety protocols relevant to the GMG facility.


11. Engage with team members regarding class scheduling, student progress, customer service, and employee training and performance.


12. Provide sales and marketing training to qualified sales personnel. Collaborate with the Marketing Manager to ensure high levels of customer service and sales performance.

13. Guide the retail and vending departments to achieve an appropriate mix of products and pricing. Assist the General Manager with purchasing decisions.

14. Train and supervise private party staff to ensure adherence to GMG standard operating procedures.
15. Collaborate with the General Manager and Marketing Manager to manage social media, coordinate water safety presentations and events, and establish partnerships with local businesses that share similar values.
16. Monitor email, voice messages, and social media to ensure timely and appropriate responses.
17. Gain proficiency in all technology platforms to enhance competence in bookings, class scheduling, reporting, and administrative tasks.
18. Develop a comprehensive understanding of GMG pool operations to effectively train front desk staff in program sales and customer service responses.
19. Initiate and promote a positive workplace culture and employee interaction, maintaining high levels of employee satisfaction.
20. Direct and oversee the implementation of the Emergency Action Plan and all safety procedures relevant to the GMG facility, ensuring all staff are trained accordingly.
21. Maintain current certifications and stay updated on trends in the aquatics and management fields.

Qualifications:
A high school diploma or GED is required. A Bachelor's degree in business administration, communications, or a related field is preferred. Experience as a certified lifeguard, youth sports instructor/coach, camp counselor, or childcare provider is required. A minimum of two years of experience as a swimming instructor is preferred.

Certifications:
Certified Pool Operator and Lifeguard Instructor certifications are required. Both certifications must remain current.

Work Environment:
The employee is regularly exposed to heat and humidity. The noise level is typically moderate.
