Cleveland Clinic's Hillcrest Hospital is seeking a skilled Health Unit Coordinator to join our Emergency Department team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our unit.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct in-person greetings and welcome newly admitted and transferred patients to the unit.
  • Respond to patient call lights and make rounds to ensure timely care.
  • Assist with processing patient admissions, transfers, and discharges.
  • Provide wayfinding assistance and direct patients and families to available resources.
  • Assemble and maintain patient medical records and other documents related to patient care.
  • Assist with unit clerical functions and troubleshoot equipment failures.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 1 year of experience in a customer service-related role.
  • Experience with typing, computer training, or equivalent coursework.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • College degree.
  • Microsoft Office experience.
Physical Requirements:
  • Requires full range of motion, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination.
  • Requires frequent data entry, standing, and walking for extensive periods.
  • Requires normal or corrected speech, hearing, and vision.
  • Requires some exposure to communicable disease or body fluids.
Personal Protective Equipment:

Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
