Key Responsibilities

  • Possess a solid understanding of U.S. GAAP principles.
  • Perform detailed reconciliations of specific balance sheet accounts, including third-party accounts receivable, inventory, utilities, and others as required.
  • Prepare accounting-related journal entries for assigned areas.
  • Evaluate accounting challenges and suggest practical solutions. Analyze data, identify critical issues, and develop actionable plans to address them.
  • Manage assigned projects by prioritizing tasks to meet deadlines, ensuring accounting goals are achieved, and keeping the Accounting Manager informed of progress and challenges.
  • Generate supporting documentation for external audit purposes.
  • Uphold a high standard of internal controls.
  • Work collaboratively with third-party service providers, including consultants and auditors.
  • Engage with other corporate departments such as development, operations, and finance.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; a Master's degree and CPA certification are advantageous.
  • A minimum of 3 years of full-time accounting experience.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP.
  • Able to manage multiple concurrent assignments effectively.
  • Experience in retail, restaurant, or similar industries with multiple locations across different states.
  • Familiarity with SEC guidelines is a plus.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
  • Prior experience with Great Plains (Dynamics GP) and Blackline is preferred.
  • Experience in public accounting is highly desirable.
