Responsibilities Include:

  • Participating in designated work groups to ensure systems and processes are in place to achieve or exceed key performance indicators in quality engineering, cost management, safety, and customer service.
  • Overseeing all quality-related events concerning purchased components.
  • Evaluating supplier assembly component tooling run-offs.
  • Reviewing quality specifications, APQP documentation, and PPAP submissions.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional technical teams to develop proposals for new business ventures.
  • Supporting product launches until a successful transition is confirmed with customer quality engineering.
  • Contributing to the New Product Review process for the introduction of new products.
  • Building and maintaining relationships with customers, suppliers, and other essential external contacts.
  • Integrating lean and continuous improvement methodologies into work activities and projects.
  • Encouraging positive relationships and a constructive work atmosphere.
  • Setting clear expectations, defining responsibilities, and providing constructive feedback to team members.
  • Fostering teamwork within the department and across the organization.
  • Resolving conflicts among team members and between teams.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related discipline.
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in Quality Engineering within a manufacturing context.
  • Preference for candidates with prior experience in the Automotive or die-casting sectors.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing and CNC machining processes.
  • Experience with CMM is essential.
  • Knowledge of Automotive Quality Standards such as IATF16949 / TS16949 / QS9000 is highly desirable.
  • Proficient in PPAP and APQP methodologies.
  • Understanding of Quality Assurance techniques, particularly Statistical Process Control (SPC).
  • Proven ability to develop project plans and successfully manage projects to completion.
  • Advanced proficiency in software applications for report creation, word processing, and spreadsheets (e.g., Microsoft Office, SQC Pack).
  • In-depth knowledge of quality control and assurance practices and statistical methods.
  • Advanced education and professional certifications are advantageous.
