Sheltering Arms Institute is a non-profit, state-of-the-science destination inpatient rehabilitation hospital and network of outpatient centers. We are seeking a skilled LPN to join our day shift team.
Job SummaryThe LPN is responsible for providing rehabilitative nursing care for assigned patients as planned and coordinated by the RN and as patient needs are identified. They are a key member of our care team working alongside doctors, RNs, therapists, and medical psychologists to meet the needs of the patient and family.
Responsibilities- Delivers and accurately documents direct, age-specific care to a patient or group of patients based on medical orders and an integrated, transdisciplinary plan of care.
- Safely administers prescribed medications, identifying incompatibilities and/or interactions.
- Assists the health care team with the prevention of illness and injury, maintenance of wellness, and provision of comfort.
- Provides direction, education, and begins to acquire leadership skills at the unit level.
Preferred qualifications include at least one year of experience as a LPN, nursing assistant, or care partner in either an acute care setting or as applicable to area of practice. Required qualifications include a graduate of an approved LPN nursing program, LPN - licensed practical nurse, and AHA BLS HCP certification or equivalent. Furthering education towards RN and/or Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing from an accredited program is preferred.
