About the Role

Courtyard Portland Tigard is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Director of Housekeeping to join our team. As a key member of our hotel's leadership, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our housekeeping department, ensuring that our guests have a comfortable and memorable stay.

Responsibilities
  • Hire, Train, and Develop Housekeeping Staff: Recruit, train, and develop a high-performing housekeeping team that consistently delivers exceptional results.
  • Oversee Daily Operations: Manage the day-to-day activities of the housekeeping department, including inventory management, scheduling, and budgeting.
  • Inspect and Maintain Quality Standards: Conduct regular inspections to ensure that our housekeeping staff is meeting our high standards for cleanliness and quality.
  • Provide Exceptional Guest Service: Greet and assist guests with all requests, proactively building relationships with long-term and repeat guests to develop loyalty and satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with Other Departments: Work closely with the Maintenance Department and Front Desk to achieve a consistent, high-quality product resulting in above-average customer satisfaction scores.
  • Ensure Safe Working Practices: Maintain a safe working environment by ensuring that all employees follow safe working practices and procedures.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Previous Housekeeping and Supervisory Experience: A minimum of 2 years of experience in housekeeping and supervisory roles in hospitality, property management, or healthcare.
  • Strong Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate with guests, employees, and other departments.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to stand and walk for an entire shift, perform repetitive motions, and lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Availability: Availability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
