Position Summary:
Reporting to the Production Supervisor, the Metal Fabrication Specialist will be responsible for welding and fabricating metal and aluminum components using specialized welding equipment to create and repair awnings and canopies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Weld components in various positions including flat, vertical, and overhead.
- Utilize equipment safely and effectively.
- Weld using aluminum, steel, and other alloys, either separately or in combination.
- Select and install appropriate torches, tips, filler rods, and flux based on specifications.
- Ignite torches and establish electrical circuits by striking arcs on the metals being welded.
- Adjust gas flow and pressure to achieve desired flame characteristics.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in welding or fabrication is preferred.
- Welding certification is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Demonstrated work ethic and leadership capabilities.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
- Proficient in using tools and assembling components with fine and gross motor skills.
- Effective communication skills across all levels of the organization.
- Other responsibilities as assigned.
Work Environment and Physical Requirements:
- Vision capabilities including close, distant, color, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly.
- Frequent lifting, stooping, bending, kneeling, crawling, and walking.
