About the Role

Hannaford Supermarkets is a leading retail company that values its connection to local farmers and producers. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in preventing and deterring theft and loss in our stores.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the Asset Protection Department to reduce shrinkage and prevent internal and external theft.
  • Develop expertise in the criminal justice system and private security practices.
  • Maintain strong relationships with local law enforcement and court systems.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate reports and files.
  • Meet or exceed company and location averages for shoplifting apprehensions and deterrence.
  • Detect, apprehend, and deter shoplifters in accordance with company guidelines and legal statutes.
  • Make court appearances as necessary for prosecution.
  • Stay up-to-date with Closed Circuit TV and other asset protection technologies and programs.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all related information and investigations.
  • Assist in training new Asset Protection Coordinators.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability and willingness to learn technical requirements of the job.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Able to work independently and make quick, sound decisions.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
  • Ability to travel as required.
  • Must meet minimum age requirements and pass a criminal background check.
Physical Requirements
  • Must have sufficient visual acuity and audio capability to observe specific detail.
  • Must have the mobility to respond quickly to the front of the store.
  • Ability to use computers and other communication systems required to perform the job functions.
Schedule Requirements
  • Asset Protection Coordinators will work five, eight and a half-hour shifts and are allowed one weekend off a month.
  • Must work at least one Sunday per month.
  • Must work two nights per week until at least 9:00PM.
