A DAY IN THE LIFE

We are looking for a motivated College Project Manager Intern/Co-op, who is eager to learn about the construction process. As an Intern/Co-op, you will have the chance to assist Project Managers with various tasks, including:

  • Estimating – Analyzing project proposals and assigning monetary values to them.
  • Scheduling – Developing a timeline for subcontractors to ensure timely project completion.
  • Design Meetings – Participating in design discussions with owners and teams to grasp design intentions with structural engineers and architects.
  • Buyout – Sending bid instructions, schedules, and drawings to subcontractors, evaluating proposals, and awarding contracts.
  • Permitting – Completing permit applications, submitting them with necessary documentation and fees, and awaiting approval.
  • Shop Drawing and Submittal Review – Receiving shop drawings or submittals from subcontractors, coordinating with the Project Manager, and communicating approval for material orders.
  • Billing – Managing subcontracts, change orders, payment requests, and applications.
  • Job Site Visits – Accompanying the Project Manager on site visits to ensure project progress.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
  • Currently enrolled in a Civil/Architectural/Construction Engineering or Construction Management program
  • Previous co-op or internship experience in construction is preferred
  • Strong verbal communication skills and a solid work ethic
