The Construction Manager plays a pivotal role within the Frontline Operations Team, reporting directly to the General Superintendent. This position is essential for steering the organization's success.

The primary duties include ensuring safety, quality, delivery, production, cost management, and training objectives, while also engaging in hands-on activities at the job site.

Key Responsibilities

Essential Functions:

- Execute the installation of geohazard mitigation products as specified in job site plans and standard operating procedures.

- Ensure the safety of all crew members.

- Plan and oversee projects using the daily management process, including (+QDIPC).

- Monitor and assess project performance, including duration and budget variances.

- Maintain compliance with documentation requirements such as daily logs, checklists, photo submissions, and as-built documentation.

- Manage crew member relations, including performance tracking, documentation, coaching, and disciplinary actions.

- Provide coaching and mentorship to technicians.

- Adhere to the PISTOL process, emphasizing pre-construction planning.

- Manage and communicate crew travel effectively.

- Ensure daily maintenance and cleanliness of equipment, along with proper documentation.

- Uphold quality and testing program standards.

- Foster teamwork and effective communication among all project stakeholders.

- Exhibit strong client-facing communication skills.

Qualifications

Basic Requirements:


- Minimum of 2 years of experience in the construction sector, including job management and knowledge of building products and services.

- At least 1 year of experience as a Construction Manager is required.


- Proven ability to accurately interpret project scopes, specifications (including blueprints), and timelines while achieving company profitability goals.

- Ability to inspire teams to deliver quality projects within deadlines.

- Demonstrated capability to manage multiple projects and crews simultaneously.

Strong Communication Skills:
- Ability to articulate clearly and persuasively in various situations.

- Proven experience working across different functional areas.

- Flexibility in scheduling to meet business needs, with or without prior notice.

- Proficient in using company-provided hardware and web-based technology systems.

- Valid driver's license is required.

- Capability to regularly lift/move up to 100 pounds.

- Proficient in using pneumatic, battery-powered, or electric tools.

- Physically fit to navigate steep slopes and construction sites.

- Experience operating tracked equipment with dozer winch on steep terrains.

- Familiarity with pipeline right-of-ways.

- Knowledge of equipment specifications, ratings, and capabilities.

- Understanding of environmental control measures.

- Willingness to travel extensively.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Possession of a valid Class A CDL.

- Experience in geotechnical construction.

- Familiarity with safety protocols and risk prevention for energy projects.

- OQ qualifications are preferred.

Work Environment

- Regular heavy lifting (75lbs+) of construction materials on-site.

- Travel: 100% travel within the Eastern US is expected, primarily in the Ohio/Pennsylvania area. Employees typically work a schedule of 3 weeks on and 1 week off, with salary paid during the off week.

Compensation:
Salary Non-Exempt, ranging from $33.07/hr to $39.97/hr. In 2023, the average total yearly compensation for a Construction Manager exceeded $115,000.
