Responsibilities

Under the guidance of senior personnel and adhering to established protocols, you will be tasked with the design of hardware and programming of software for HVAC control systems to fulfill project specifications. You will provide comprehensive documentation and submissions to convey design intent and operational details to clients, consultants, the Johnson Controls installation team, and subcontractors. You will also handle basic warranty inquiries.

Key Activities

- Choose hardware configurations from the standard design library for flow diagrams, operational sequences, material lists, network layouts, and electrical schematics as necessary.

- Execute software programming based on established design standards.

- Oversee the development of essential drawings and equipment schedules for submissions and installation.

- Select, procure, and monitor the delivery of materials for assigned projects, ensuring alignment with factory and project timelines.

- Assist in the loading and commissioning of all system and network-level controllers as required. Collaborate with subcontractors and other trades to troubleshoot and validate complete system functionality.

- Collect field modifications from the project team and produce as-built drawings and software. Prepare necessary documentation and manuals for system operation.

- Keep management and relevant stakeholders informed about job progress and any issues that arise.

- Participate in site-specific training for owners/operators regarding the overall system.

- Complete administrative tasks including time sheets, expense reports, and on-site documentation.

- Adhere to safety regulations, maintaining a strong focus on the safety of employees and subcontractors.

Qualifications

Required

- Proven knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and control systems.

- Demonstrated technical proficiency.

- Advanced computer skills are essential.

- Where legally permissible, candidates must be fully vaccinated against Covid-19 by their start date unless exempt due to valid medical conditions or sincerely held religious beliefs.

Preferred

- An Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or Computer Science, or 5+ years of experience in the HVAC sector.

- Experience in the installation and/or commissioning of control systems, including system-level controllers, or experience in designing or assessing mechanical/electrical building systems or control systems.
