Compensation:

Hourly Rate: $30 - $40 per hour

Position Overview:

The role involves conducting maintenance and repairs on a variety of vehicles, including commercial motor vehicles, internal combustion engines, and air compressors. The technician may also perform welding tasks as necessary.

Key Responsibilities:

The essential functions of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Lubrication: Perform oil changes, fuel filtration, and inspect grease points to identify any irregularities.
  • Bodywork and Painting: Execute body repairs and painting procedures.
  • Equipment Familiarization: Operate welding and burning equipment, as well as lathes, saws, shapers, grinders, and presses.
  • Fuel Systems: Service fuel injector pumps, nozzles, and engine governors.
  • Engine Rebuilds: Assist in overhauling and testing both gas and diesel engines.
  • Transmission Overhauls: Help in the overhaul of mechanisms that transfer engine power.
  • Air-Cooled Engine Maintenance: Assist in the maintenance of air-cooled engines.
  • Parts Management: Understand the procurement, handling, and storage of equipment parts.
  • Electrical Systems: Assist in the overhaul of starters, generators, and voltage regulators.
  • Shop Duties: Support the repair and overhaul of various equipment, including vehicles and heavy machinery.
  • Field Repairs: Conduct necessary repairs and preventive maintenance in the field to extend equipment lifespan.

Additional Requirements:

Maintain a professional demeanor with colleagues, supervisors, and the public. Be prepared to travel and work away from home as needed, including nights and weekends. Adhere strictly to safety protocols and company policies.

Qualifications:

Candidates should possess the necessary skills and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job. A Commercial Driver's License may be required for certain vehicles, along with passing a DOT physical and substance abuse test.

Education and Experience:

A minimum of less than high school education or up to one month of related experience or training is preferred.
