Compensation:
Hourly Rate: $30 - $40 / hour
Position Overview:
The Mobile Equipment Technician is responsible for conducting maintenance and repairs on a variety of vehicles, including commercial motor vehicles, internal combustion engines, and air compressors. This role may also involve welding tasks as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
The following duties are essential for this position:
1. Lubrication:
Perform oil changes, filter replacements, and inspections to identify any irregularities.
2. Bodywork:
Execute body repairs and painting as required.
3. Equipment Familiarization:
Utilize welding and burning tools, and operate lathes, saws, shapers, grinders, and presses.
4. Fuel Systems:
Service fuel injector pumps, nozzles, and engine governors.
5. Engine Rebuilds:
Assist in overhauling and testing both gas and diesel engines.
6. Transmission Repairs:
Support the overhaul of transmission systems to ensure efficient power transfer.
7. Air-Cooled Engine Maintenance:
Assist in the repair of various air-cooled engines.
8. Parts Management:
Understand the procurement, handling, and storage of equipment parts.
9. Electrical Systems:
Assist in the maintenance of starters, generators, and voltage regulators.
10. Field Repairs:
Conduct necessary repairs in the field and implement preventive maintenance to extend equipment lifespan.
Other Requirements:
Maintain a professional demeanor with colleagues and clients. Be prepared to travel and work flexible hours as needed. Adhere strictly to safety protocols and company policies.
Qualifications:
Applicants should possess the necessary skills and abilities to perform essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation. A valid Commercial Driver's License may be required for certain roles.
Education and Experience:
Less than high school education or equivalent experience is acceptable.
