Job Responsibilities

As a Fleet Maintenance Specialist, you will be responsible for performing skilled trades and lower-level craftwork for the construction, maintenance, and repair of facilities systems, buildings, and equipment. Your duties will include:

  • Performing required inspections and preventive maintenance on vehicles and equipment within planned time tolerances to maximize safety, reliability, and cost efficiency.
  • Performing FAI/CVI (Annual) inspections on all fleet vehicles, including tractors, trailers, converter dollies, light-duty vehicles, and company-owned equipment, in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Performing quality preventive maintenance inspections and repairs on all fleet vehicles to ensure maximum safety and reliability.
  • Diagnosing and repairing malfunctions in vehicle systems, including engines, transmissions, and clutches, drive-line, differential, steering and suspension, fuel and ignition system, exhaust systems, intake systems, electrical systems, brake systems, and HVAC systems.
  • Documenting all work performed on work orders and following procedures for reporting and resolving issues.
Qualifications & Requirements

To be successful as a Fleet Maintenance Specialist, you will need:

  • Medium/Heavy Duty truck technical training and a high school diploma or GED.
  • 2 years of experience or 3 years of experience in fleet maintenance and repair.
  • A current and valid driver's license.
  • ASE certifications in Automotive or Medium/Heavy Duty Trucks (preferred).
  • Annual Inspector Certification and Brake Inspector Certification.
Work Environment

The Fleet Maintenance Specialist will work in a manufacturing or field site environment, with occasional exposure to wet, hot, extreme cold, and humid conditions. The associate may be required to work in confined spaces, travel to other locations, and work non-traditional business hours, including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.

Physical Demands

The Fleet Maintenance Specialist will be required to stand, sit, walk, bend, reach, push/pull, lift/carry, and grasp tools, with the ability to perform repetitive motion with wrenches and hand tools.
