Position Title: Adjunct Instructor in Ethnic Studies

Overview:
Contra Costa Community College District is seeking qualified candidates for the role of Adjunct Instructor in Ethnic Studies. This position focuses on teaching courses related to various ethnic studies disciplines, including but not limited to Latino Studies, Native American Studies, and African American Studies. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering face-to-face instruction at designated campuses.

Course Offerings:
Available courses may include:
1. Introduction to Ethnic Studies
2. Native American and Indigenous Studies
3. Black Studies
4. Critical Thinking in Ethnic Studies
5. Racial and Ethnic Justice Movements
6. Latinx Studies
7. Chicanx Studies
8. Critical Race Feminisms

This role is designed for individuals with expertise in Dual Enrollment teaching or related fields. The teaching schedule may include classes at various times throughout the week.

Responsibilities:
As an Adjunct Instructor, your duties will include:
1. Delivering instruction in accordance with established curriculum and course outlines.
2. Creating a supportive learning environment that encourages critical thinking and open discussion.
3. Assessing student progress and providing feedback on academic performance.
4. Engaging with students outside of class to support their learning.
5. Maintaining professional standards and ethics in all interactions.
6. Staying current in your field of expertise.
7. Keeping accurate academic records and fulfilling other related responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:
Applicants must possess a Master's degree in Ethnic Studies or a related field, or meet the equivalent qualifications as defined by the institution. A strong understanding of the diverse backgrounds of community college students is essential.
