About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to join our team as a Kid Zone Lead at the YMCA of Greater Seattle. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing a safe and engaging environment for children in our drop-in care program.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise a group of children to ensure their health, safety, and well-being.
  • Develop and implement program activities that promote learning, socialization, and physical activity.
  • Provide guidance, leadership, and direction to Kid Zone Counselors as needed.
  • Follow YMCA policies and procedures, including those related to medical and disciplinary situations, child abuse prevention, and emergency procedures.
  • Engage with parents/guardians to provide information about their child's experience and promote upcoming programs.
  • Ensure that toys and equipment are clean and safe, set up and stored properly.
  • Attend staff meetings and training programs as required.
Requirements
  • High school education or equivalent.
  • 1 year or more previous experience working with children, preferably in a camp, child care, tutoring, nanny, or coaching setting.
  • Ability to model and demonstrate YMCA values, including caring, respect, responsibility, and honesty.
  • Experience planning and implementing group activities is preferred.
  • Knowledge of and previous experience with diverse populations is an asset.
