Job Overview

POSITION SUMMARY

The role of the Operator is critical in ensuring the safe and effective functioning of plant machinery while executing site tasks in accordance with established company protocols. Responsibilities encompass supervising the movement of materials, tracking inventory levels, conducting material tests, performing routine inspections, and adhering to safety regulations.

This position demands a blend of technical knowledge, analytical skills, and a dedication to maintaining operational excellence to meet performance objectives.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Adhere to Eco Material Technologies Safety Policies and Procedures
  • Encourage safe working practices to foster a zero-injury safety culture
  • Participate in regular safety meetings and comply with all safety guidelines
  • Maintain effective communication with utility providers
  • Monitor and document fly ash levels in silos and place orders as necessary
  • Collect samples of fly ash from deliveries and silos for testing and conduct required analyses
  • Load trucks, rail cars, or barges with fly ash directly from the silo
  • Unload trucks, rail cars, or other delivery systems to replenish fly ash silos
  • Weigh trucks and rail cars, recording the information in the relevant operating system or production sheet, and generate billing tickets
  • Operate all loading equipment for trucks and/or rail cars, including water trucks, dump trucks, vacuum trucks, or forklifts as needed
  • Manage production equipment operations, including start-up and shut-down procedures
  • Assist in disposal operations as required
  • Perform maintenance on grounds, equipment, and facilities as directed
  • Handle all necessary paperwork and reports
  • Exhibit regular attendance, punctuality, and flexibility in scheduling
  • Report any safety concerns or equipment maintenance issues to the Supervisor
  • Support maintenance repairs and projects as needed
  • Other responsibilities as assigned

  • Possesses strong verbal communication skills for providing instructions, reporting issues, and collaborating with team members
  • Ability to read and understand simple instructions
  • Effectively manages time and meets productivity expectations
  • Observes safety and security protocols, including proper use of equipment and materials
  • Capable of troubleshooting equipment malfunctions
  • Works collaboratively with others, following supervisor instructions and coordinating tasks to achieve project goals
  • Consistently reliable and punctual
  • Willingness to work rotating on-call shifts, weekends, holidays, and overtime
  • Ability to adapt to changing job site conditions, equipment needs, and project priorities

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

The ideal candidate should possess:

  • A High School Diploma or equivalent, along with training or certification in a relevant skill or trade
  • 1 to 2 years of experience in a related field

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT

The candidate must be able to:

  • Endure exposure to sounds or noise levels that may be uncomfortable
  • Withstand temperature extremes in various environments
  • Prolong standing or sitting in a stationary position
  • Occasionally climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
  • Perform repetitive movements
  • Bend and/or twist as necessary
  • Ascend and descend stairs or ladders
  • Lift, move, or transport items weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Navigate throughout the facilities
  • Work in environments with dust, chemicals, and other substances
  • Wear all required personal protective equipment (hearing, vision, and hardhat protection)
