MRI Imaging Specialist

As a MRI Technologist with OrthoArizona, you will be part of a dynamic team that is committed to excellence and patient satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare and position patients for MRI examinations, selecting appropriate anatomic and technical parameters to produce high-quality images.
- Perform patient pre-screening, scheduling, and education related to the examination, ensuring accurate and efficient communication.
- Enter and monitor patient data, transfer images from disk to magnetic media, and develop film in an automatic processor.
- Follow radiation safety procedures and guidelines, ensuring a safe working environment for patients and staff.
- Perform MRI procedures utilizing various frequencies, planes, and techniques, adhering to established protocols and guidelines.
- Collect pertinent patient history and document on requisition, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records.
- Complete pre-MRI screening questionnaires to assess suitability for magnetic environments, ensuring patient safety.
- Start intravenous access as needed and perform intravenous injections using proper technique, understanding how to treat patients with infiltrated IV sites.
- Maintain proper oxygen therapy on patients who require oxygen, adjusting flow rates according to written physician orders.
- Recognize and respond to emergencies and life-threatening situations, prioritizing patient safety and well-being.
- Promote MR safety through education of personnel and physicians, monitoring the environment for potential hazards.
- Graduate of an accredited radiology or accredited MRI program.
- ARRT-MR certification or obtain MR certification within 2 years of hire date.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
- Preferred: 1 year experience as a MR Technologist.
