Job Description

The Materials Testing Specialist is responsible for ensuring the quality of materials received by the department, adhering to ISO/IEC 17025 requirements.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Mold specimens for testing by the Mechanical Testing Laboratory as defined on the Request for Analysis or Laboratory Request form. Condition the molded specimens according to the Product Control Plan or Customer Specification. Perform final testing on the molded specimens according to the requirements specified on the Request for Analysis or Laboratory Request form.
  • Conduct in-process testing on all materials brought to the Mechanical Testing Laboratory at prescribed intervals defined by the Product Control Plan.
  • Assist in the maintenance and verification/calibration of all equipment in the department.
  • Review Raw Material and Final Test Results and determine if additional testing is required.
  • Record Raw Material and Final Test Results in the PRIMOS computer database and document the results on the Request for Analysis or Laboratory Request form, as appropriate. Submit Test Results for external customers to the Laboratory Technical Manager for review.
  • Report Test Results for in-process testing in the PRIMOS computer database immediately upon completion. Notify the manufacturing department if an in-process Test Result is out of specification so adjustments can be made.
  • Review applicable procedures, work instructions, and test methods to ensure compliance with ISO/IEC 17025 requirements.
  • Collaborate with other laboratory technicians to ensure timely reporting of all results.
  • Participate in Measurement System Analysis Studies (Gage R&R).
  • Perform other duties and assignments as directed by supervisor.

Estimated Salary: $23.00 per hour based on industry standards and location.

Schedule: 12-hour shift, rotating between day and night shifts.
