Key Responsibilities

The HR Generalist will play a crucial role in building relationships with employees across all organizational levels while addressing their Human Resources needs. Responsibilities include:

  • Human Resources Management: Oversee and facilitate various HR functions, including recruitment, employee relations, training, payroll administration, and benefits management in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
  • Employee Relations: Cultivate positive interactions between staff and management, addressing employee concerns, and ensuring compliance with labor laws and regulations.
  • Project Oversight: Manage and coordinate HR projects and initiatives, working alongside cross-functional teams to foster innovation and achieve organizational objectives.
  • Compliance Assurance: Ensure adherence to relevant employment laws, regulations, and internal policies through audits, training, and policy development.
  • Systems Management: Optimize HR systems and processes, ensuring data accuracy and supporting system users to meet organizational needs effectively.
  • Training and Development: Design, implement, and assess training programs aimed at enhancing employee skills, knowledge, and performance in areas such as legal compliance and HR policies.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 4 years of HR Administrative or Supervisory experience in a non-profit or distribution setting preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or a related field preferred.
  • PHR designation is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Familiarity with California employment and wage & hour laws.
  • Strong analytical skills with a resourceful approach to problem-solving.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team and independently, demonstrating a service-oriented mindset.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and adaptable to manage challenging projects.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills with strong emotional intelligence and relationship-building capabilities.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite, Google Suite, and HRIS systems such as Paychex or ADP.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is required.
  • Valid California Driver's License and access to a reliable vehicle for travel.
