Job Title: Batching Manager

At Niagara Bottling, we're seeking a highly skilled Batching Manager to join our team. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our aseptic batching area, ensuring that our products meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and production goals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and direct the activities of the aseptic batching department, ensuring that products adhere to our standard of safety, quality, and throughput.
  • Collaborate with the production and planning department to create production schedules that meet both internal and external needs.
  • Ensure that team members follow all SSOP's in compliance with aseptic principles and adhere to all requirements to protect the sterility and integrity of the process and product.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure that all materials are in compliance with inventory standards.
  • Ensure that all team members are trained and work in compliance with all applicable standard aseptic work practices, regulatory requirements, GMP's, HACCP, and SQF expectations.
  • Maintain quality standards of all products to ensure food safety and quality that meets the expected shelf life.
  • Maintain effective working relationships with team members through open communication, visibility, and involvement to promote a positive working environment that maximizes safety, employee engagement, productivity, and throughput.
  • Provide direction to supervisors on team member coaching and development, employment decisions, and resolving issues through conflict resolution.
  • Collaborate with department leadership to plan preventative maintenance on the production lines.
  • Analyze and submit reports for batching yields, system processes, attendance, overtime, and quality checks to the APD and Plant Director.
  • Collaborate with the leadership to develop the Batching Department goals and forecast.
  • Develop, recommend, and implement measures to improve production batching methods, equipment performance, and quality of product, and to reduce raw material/product shrink.
  • Develop capital equipment justification for machine upgrades and process technology to improve quality, cost, and batching throughput.
  • Suggest changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of department personnel.
  • Collaborate with System Engineers, R&D, and commercialization on Aseptic process improvements.
  • Interface with multiple departments within the organization to ensure customer deadlines are met.
  • Collaborate with plant leadership to champion a world-class safety culture by adhering to the highest standards of company and plant safety programs, guidelines, rules, and regulations.
  • Abide by Niagara's Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's) and Food Safety Standards at all times.
  • Collaborate with raw material planners to ensure correct inventories based on production schedules. Escalate supplier quality issues to prevent customer shortages.
  • Partner with the Quality Department to prevent and resolve Non-Conforming Finished Goods and Non-Conforming Raw Materials.
  • Partner with the Quality Department on customer complaint resolution and CAPA.
Requirements:
  • Minimum Qualifications:
    • 6 years of experience in Aseptic Field or similar manufacturing environment.
    • 6 years of experience in Position.
    • 6 years of experience managing people/projects.
  • Understanding of aseptic production processes and controls.
  • Food processing experience in an aseptic manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrate functional and technical knowledge of the aseptic process.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 10+ years of experience in Aseptic Field or similar manufacturing environment.
  • 10+ years of experience working in Position.
  • 10+ years of experience managing people/projects.

Education:
  • Minimum Required:
    • Work Experience 5+ years in leadership.
    • Food Science, Chemistry, Microbiology.
    • Bachelor's Degree in Food Science, Engineering, Business Administration, or related vocational studies.
  • Preferred:
    • Master's Degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or related vocational studies.
Certification/License:
  • Required: SQF, HACCP, GMP.
  • Preferred: OSHA, Aseptic.
Foreign Language:
  • Required: None Required.
  • Preferred: None Required.
