Job Purpose:

To ensure the repair and upkeep of the property’s physical structure to the highest standards. Oversee the team in the Maintenance department to help achieve exceptional guest satisfaction scores for the establishment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain the hotel, pool, and surrounding areas by performing minor and routine tasks such as painting, plumbing, electrical wiring,
HVAC functions, and other related maintenance activities using hand tools.

  • Inform management of the need for significant repairs or enhancements to lighting, heating, and ventilation systems.

  • Respond to guest service requests in accordance with company policy and maintain records of completed tasks.
  • Program phone systems to meet hotel requirements.
  • Monitor equipment and utility meter readings daily.
  • Remain accessible to the Front Desk and Chief Engineer.
  • Maintain files of Material Safety Data Sheets.
  • Ensure adequate stock of frequently used parts and supplies.
  • Familiarize oneself with emergency procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Skills:

  • Ability to understand and utilize specifications.
  • Work with precise measurements.
  • Use arithmetic for measuring, calculating material quantities, and inspecting products to ensure compliance with standards.

  • Lift and transport materials and products.
  • Climb and maintain balance.
  • Work outdoors in various weather conditions.

Qualifications:

Education:

High School Diploma or equivalent

Experience:

Minimum of 2 years in a maintenance role.

Licenses/Certifications:

Technical licenses such as HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, etc., are advantageous.

Management Activities:

X Direct the work of associates

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

Ability to communicate effectively in English. Close and distance vision. Frequently lift/carry up to 50 lbs. Continuous use of manual dexterity and gross motor skills with frequent use of bi-manual dexterity and fine motor skills.
