The Department of Radiation Oncology at the University of Minnesota Medical School is seeking a full-time faculty researcher/scientist. The successful candidate will be appointed to an academic rank based on qualifications and experience. The position requires a demonstrated ability in research, scholarly productivity, and teaching. Preference will be given to candidates who have completed a research fellowship and/or a clinical scholars program designed to prepare physician-scientists for an independent career in clinical and patient-oriented translational research.
Academic time will be used to pursue scholarly work in the candidate's area of specialty/research experience with a goal of developing collaborative or independent, externally funded research. Faculty will be active in their national organizations and foster an academic environment for medical students, residents, and faculty.
The Department of Radiation Oncology is home to clinical faculty as well as basic science faculty involved in research, undergraduate, and graduate education. The department is committed to advancing the field of radiation oncology through innovative research and education.
Key Responsibilities- Pursue scholarly work in the area of specialty/research experience
- Develop collaborative or independent, externally funded research
- Be active in national organizations
- Foster an academic environment for medical students, residents, and faculty
The successful candidate must have a PhD and demonstrated ability in research, scholarly productivity, and teaching. Preference will be given to candidates who have completed a research fellowship and/or a clinical scholars program.
