Beacon Platform Inc. was established by industry pioneers Kirat Singh and Mark Higgins in 2014, specializing in the development and design of comprehensive trading, analytics, and risk management solutions.

Our offerings empower financial institutions of all sizes to implement front-office development at an enterprise level on the cloud.

The Platform includes the Beacon Front Office Suite for managing trades, positions, and risk across various assets, along with Beacon Core, a unified development and operational platform that facilitates collaboration between quantitative analysts and software developers for the continuous delivery of business solutions.

With Beacon's open architecture and transparent source-code model, clients can achieve their business objectives while retaining complete ownership of their technology stack.

Below is an overview of the position. If you believe you possess the necessary skills and experience, we encourage you to consider this opportunity.

Position Overview

As a Lead Quantitative Software Engineer at Beacon Platform Inc., you will collaborate with a team to enhance product support for derivatives and securities, focusing on pricing and cross-asset risk analytics.

Your role will involve working closely with developers from various internal teams to deliver functionality for both developers and end-users in trading and risk management.

Additionally, you will engage directly with clients who extend the platform to implement their proprietary risk models and analytics.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify and advocate for new models and design patterns essential for the ongoing enhancement of an evolving infrastructure that supports all clients.

• Adhere to and promote the software development lifecycle.
• Write code to fulfill well-defined, scoped work requests while maintaining a proactive approach to identify areas for improvement.
• Uphold and further develop a commitment to high-quality coding standards.
• Produce comprehensive documentation that supports and expands engineering solutions, targeting both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Escalate complex and ambiguous issues as necessary.
• Provide constructive feedback within the team regarding code, behavioral challenges, and other work items.
Qualifications
• Over 10 years of development experience with Python and other strongly-typed programming languages.
• Experience in a front office development role, ideally on a trading desk, supporting derivatives pricing and risk analytics.
• Familiarity with one or more asset classes: Fixed Income/Rates, Credit, Equities, and/or Commodities.
• Understanding of market conventions, deal structures, and pricing/risk management of derivatives previously supported.
• Eagerness to learn about and work on a variety of asset classes.
• Experience developing code in a production environment, preferably in enterprise risk systems.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to convey technical topics to a diverse audience.
• A solid software engineering culture that supports all phases of the software development cycle.
• Excellent critical thinking and troubleshooting abilities.
• Capability to comprehend unfamiliar code bases and debug applications.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience in a front office development role, ideally on a trading desk, supporting securities pricing, hedging, and risk analytics.
• Experience in building, enhancing, and maintaining pricing and risk systems.
• Familiarity with relevant sources of market data and product data.
• Experience in developing and deploying code in a production environment, preferably in enterprise risk systems.
