Cummins Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineering Technician to join our team. As a key member of our Emissions Measurement Laboratory, you will be responsible for building, repairing, and preparing test articles for testing and associated auxiliary equipment.
Key Responsibilities- Builds, repairs, and prepares test articles for testing and associated auxiliary equipment.
- Installs test articles into test structures (test cells, tables, rigs, etc.) and performs tests in accordance with set test methods.
- Performs testing in accordance with established test procedures and methodology.
- Provides accurate and reliable test results.
- Configures and operates data acquisition systems; analyzes and reviews data for appropriateness.
- Supports engineering for equipment supplier evaluation and qualification, equipment and facility updates, and instrument specification.
- Performs other duties as required.
- High school diploma or certificate of completion of secondary education or equivalent experience.
- A regionally applicable certification (US Department of Labor) or two-year Associates Degree from an accredited college program in a relevant field of study.
- Significant relevant work experience or specialized skills obtained through education, training, or on-the-job experience.
- Action-oriented individual with a sense of urgency and high energy.
- Effective communicator with strong multi-mode communication skills.
- Ability to manage complexity and make good decisions.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on achieving results.
- Experience with data acquisition and reporting.
- Knowledge of product functionality test system design.
- Ability to work in a laboratory environment with a focus on safety and environmental requirements.
