Cash Application Representative Job Description

Job Summary:

The Cash Application Representative will play a crucial role in ensuring the timely and accurate application of payments for goods and services offered to clients. This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with the Collections team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Apply receipts daily for all credit card settlements, wires, ACH/EFTS, and manual deposits.
  • Collaborate with the Collections team to obtain remits and post payments in full to ensure application and unapplied cash targets are met or exceeded.
  • Process adjustments to customer accounts for credits/debits and account bank fee charge-offs.
  • Investigate and resolve any discrepancies related to customer payments, working closely with the Collections team to ensure issues are resolved promptly.
  • Respond to Collection team questions for quick resolution and feedback in a timely manner.
  • Correctly apply payments and identify daily unapplied amounts to post to customer accounts.
  • Verify receipts that are not customer-related and follow up on proper GL code for posting.

Requirements:

  • High School diploma and 2-4 years related experience.
  • Business or Accounting degree or related certifications preferred.
  • Must be reliable, trustworthy, and proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related programs.
  • Ability to learn other accounting software systems.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to maintain confidential and meticulous records.
