About the Role
The Medical Laboratory Technician will primarily engage in the analysis of blood and bodily fluids utilizing advanced laboratory equipment to provide crucial health information.
Key Responsibilities- Analyze specimens for the presence of bacteria, viruses, or parasites.
- Assess drug levels and other chemicals in blood to ensure optimal therapeutic levels.
- Evaluate the chemical composition of blood to identify nutrient deficiencies or excesses.
- Utilize various laboratory equipment, including cell counters and microscopes, to conduct tests.
- Adhere to laboratory protocols for analyzing, interpreting, and reporting test results.
- Active certification through ASCP, AMT, HEW, or AAB is required.
- A minimum of eighteen months of experience as a Medical Laboratory Technician is necessary.
- A state license may be required.
- Proficient understanding of scientific laboratory procedures and equipment usage.
