Job Summary

Tate Inc. is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Stock Keeper 1 to join our team on the 2nd shift. As a key member of our inventory management team, you will be responsible for ensuring the accurate and efficient movement of materials and supplies throughout our facility.

Key Responsibilities
  • Inventory Management: Control the issue and receipt of materials to production, verifying work order numbers, quantities, and status of work orders.
  • Material Handling: Receive incoming materials, verifying quality, quantities, and purchase orders. Apply labels according to requirements and store in proper locations.
  • Forklift Operations: Operate forklift as assigned for loading and unloading of steel coils/tubing. Inspect and weigh coils to standards. Write coil tickets and distribute copies where needed.
  • Inventory Staging: Ensure that materials are correctly staged, clearly labeled with part numbers and quantities to ensure prompt delivery between manufacturing departments.
  • Material Rotation: Rotate materials using older materials first, or as a manufacturing requires, utilizing the space in the plant efficiently.
  • Damage Identification: Identify damaged materials and take appropriate action.
  • Housekeeping and Safety: Maintain good housekeeping and follow established safety procedures.
  • Compliance and Quality: Follow all policies, procedures, and work instructions, including Employee Handbook, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Manufacturing Operating Procedures (MOPs), Job Safety Analysis (JSAs), and Safety Manual. Maintain awareness of individual contribution to and impact of the quality, safety, environmental, and product compliance policies and activities; report all quality issues, unsafe acts, and unsafe conditions to the proper personnel.
Requirements
  • Education: High School Diploma or GED; or equivalent experience.
  • Forklift Experience: Prior forklift experience and licensing required.
  • Communication Skills: Ability to read, write, and follow oral and written instructions.
  • Teamwork: Ability to interface with a diverse workforce.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. occasionally during an 8-hour shift. Able to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and crouch for an 8-hour shift.
  • Manual Dexterity: Must be able to use hands and fingers to handle or feel machinery, equipment or parts and work near moving mechanical parts.
