Job Overview

Position Summary:
The primary goal of the Instrumentation and Electrical Maintenance Specialist is to maintain the reliability of instrumentation systems and equipment across various processes. This role requires independent decision-making and technical expertise in the field.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform maintenance, troubleshooting, testing, and calibration of industrial instrumentation and control systems.
  • Plan, schedule, and execute preventive and corrective maintenance tasks.
  • Participate in root cause analysis for significant failures.
  • Identify and address chronic instrumentation issues.
  • Assist in planning and estimating costs for instrumentation projects.
  • Research and implement new technologies and instrumentation systems.
  • Train and mentor new and existing instrumentation personnel.
  • Lead the implementation of calibration and asset management software.
  • Support validation activities for instrumentation systems.
  • Analyze equipment performance data to ensure optimal operation.
  • Provide guidance to plant personnel to promote safe and effective work practices.
  • Address high-impact issues with urgency and integrity.

This role involves a mix of office and fieldwork, requiring adaptability to various weather conditions and the ability to access elevated equipment using ladders and lifts.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Associate's Degree or Engineering Technology Degree in Instrumentation/Electronics with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of industrial instrumentation systems.
  • Strong knowledge of preventive and predictive maintenance practices.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work independently and effectively manage multiple tasks.
  • Proficiency in standard software applications.

Preferred:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electronics or Electrical Engineering.
  • Understanding of regulatory standards and industrial codes.
  • Familiarity with process control systems in manufacturing settings.
  • Experience with asset management systems.
