Position Summary:
BryceTech is seeking a Satellite Software Subject Matter Expert (SME) with extensive knowledge in software operations for space vehicles (SVs) and related flight hardware. This role involves providing technical guidance to the SVV Lifecycle Support Engineers (LSEs) and assisting prime contractors and bus providers throughout their flight software development and testing processes. The ideal candidate will possess experience in satellite and ground operations, ensuring the successful integration of various vendors' software and hardware designs through a unified ground operations control station.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Possess a comprehensive understanding of the SUPERNOVA codebase and all associated internal and external interfacing components.
  • Demonstrate expertise across the entire Systems Engineering V lifecycle.
  • Maintain knowledge of all components within the SDA Tranche system from both architectural and technical perspectives.
  • Design, develop, integrate, and test flight software systems in the space domain.
  • Exhibit technical and analytical understanding of satellite flight software system interactions.
  • Showcase experience in systems engineering.
  • Engage with Department of Defense (DoD) and/or Intelligence Community (IC) clients.

Specific Tasks May Include:

  • Develop use cases for flight software development.
  • Integrate software with hardware components to ensure seamless functionality.
  • Ensure software adheres to quality performance standards.
  • Collaborate with spacecraft vendors on flight software development.
  • Participate in Agile development methodologies.
  • Coordinate the establishment of satellite system requirements, considering their impact on ground systems.
  • Work with development teams to ensure comprehensive design functionality and inform testing processes.
  • Evaluate technical maturity and risks associated with changes to ground systems.
  • Oversee the integration and testing of satellites within the SDA's ground system network.
  • Maintain awareness of baseline requirements and integration points to ensure project milestones are met.
  • Utilize problem-solving skills to identify and address system gaps.
  • Coordinate with modeling and simulation teams to assess architectural impacts.
  • Review engineering documentation and provide SME support.
  • Assist the SDA's Program Management and Systems Engineering teams.
  • Resolve complex problems that require consideration of multiple project variables.
  • Incorporate feedback from Joint Warfighter, Mission Partners, and internal teams to enhance product strategies.
  • Support application product managers and facilitate cross-functional team coordination.

Qualifications:

  • In-depth knowledge of flight software systems (guidance, navigation, control, etc.).
  • Expertise in software components for space vehicles and flight hardware.
  • Experience in creating software use cases following systems engineering best practices.
  • Proficiency in writing flight software test plans.
  • Familiarity with DevSecOps practices.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field from an accredited institution is required.
  • A minimum of fifteen years of relevant experience is necessary.
  • Strong analytical skills for troubleshooting complex software issues.
  • Excellent communication abilities.
  • Eligibility for TS/SCI clearance is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in a STEM field.
  • 15+ years of experience with cloud infrastructure, software applications, and design.
  • SME expertise in satellite flight software.
  • Current experience with space systems.
