Position: Business Intelligence Platform Administrator
Overview: The Business Intelligence Platform Administrator is tasked with the crucial role of implementing, maintaining, and enhancing our corporate business intelligence systems.
This role involves close collaboration with business stakeholders and IT personnel to create robust and scalable BI and data delivery platforms.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure platforms uphold architectural integrity and maintain high availability.
- Gain insights into business processes across departments such as Sales, Finance, and HR to effectively support their requirements.
- Facilitate the onboarding of new systems and applications.
- Initiate and participate in security reviews for networks and applications.
- Enhance each platform by devising and implementing improved processes.
- Develop sophisticated logical models and make them accessible to users in an intuitive manner.
- Assist end users during upgrade testing phases.
- Provide training for super users and power users on tool utilization.
- Coordinate development efforts with offshore team members and other stakeholders.
- Conduct ongoing monitoring and refinement of tools and systems.
- Collaborate with the business solutions delivery team to ensure user-friendly solutions.
Collaboration and Teamwork: Work effectively with multi-functional IT teams.
Required Skills:
- Expertise in Data Platforms and BI Data Platform Administration.
- Proficiency in Power BI and data architecture.
- Experience in data modeling and Power BI development.
Qualifications:
- Demonstrated experience as a system administrator for BI tools.
- Prior experience in implementing Power BI solutions.
- Strong knowledge of Linux and Windows operating systems.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field; Data Scientist experience is preferred.
- Familiarity with R, Python, Jupyter, or similar tools is advantageous.
- 5 to 7 years of IT experience with a comprehensive understanding of SDLC methodology.
- Solid understanding of relational databases and experience with SQL.
- Knowledge of data warehousing methodologies and dimensional modeling.
- Experience in writing custom components such as charting is a plus.
- Participation in JAD/RAD/AGILE/Waterfall scrum sessions is beneficial.
- Able to swiftly translate requirements into actionable tasks.
- Competence in Microsoft Office applications including Word, MS Project, Excel, Visio, and other tools that aid in the requirements gathering and design phases of the SDLC.
- A passion for problem-solving, innovation, and creativity.
- Self-motivated with strong leadership qualities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
