ABOUT THE ROLE
At Columbia Sportswear, our Store Leadership Teams play a crucial role in our retail success.

As a Senior Retail Operations Manager, you will oversee the daily functions of the store, focusing on enhancing customer service, boosting sales, and increasing profitability. Your leadership will be vital in executing marketing strategies and promotional initiatives that expand our customer base.

This position entails maintaining exceptional store standards, cultivating a positive work environment, forecasting staffing requirements, and devising effective recruitment strategies.

You will be responsible for developing a diverse team of associates and keyholders, preparing them to achieve both their career aspirations and the company’s objectives.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead and mentor the store team to cultivate a diverse workforce, ensuring high service levels and quality standards to meet customer expectations.

• Inspire and guide associates and keyholders, helping them align their career paths with the company’s growth strategies.

• Manage operating budgets and control expenses in accordance with company guidelines to achieve positive financial outcomes.

• Ensure the accuracy of all store operations, encompassing both Front and Back of House functions.

• Complete all necessary recordkeeping related to applicants, new hires, payroll, performance evaluations, coaching, disciplinary actions, and terminations in a timely manner.

• Maintain optimal inventory levels through effective replenishment, organization, shrink control, and communication.

• Regularly communicate with upper management, providing pertinent market insights and updates on employee achievements and challenges.


QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree, or relevant certification or equivalent experience.

• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.

• Proven experience in managing individual contributors and leading a department.

• Strong problem-solving abilities, capable of addressing technical, operational, and organizational challenges that impact financial performance and efficiency.

• Proficient in operating Point of Sales (POS) systems and various software applications.


WORK ENVIRONMENT

This role often requires physical activity, including the ability to move about the store and handle items weighing up to 40 lbs. You may also encounter specialized equipment and be exposed to dust and noise.

Flexibility in your retail schedule is essential, as it may vary based on seasonal trends and business needs.
