Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with fellow instructors to develop, administer, and evaluate course assessments.
  • Ensure accurate attendance and grading records are maintained and submitted.
  • Assist in strategic planning and evaluation of instructional initiatives to uphold program quality.
  • Facilitate the orientation of new faculty in both theoretical and clinical settings.
  • Apply adult learning principles in instructional practices.
  • Continuously seek to enhance the quality of instruction.
  • Demonstrate or develop skills in utilizing online resources to enrich course content.
  • Maintain student records, including attendance and skills assessments, and assist with program data collection.
  • Timely submission of required program reports to the program director.
  • Stay updated on new technologies and safety regulations.
  • Engage in committee activities that support the nursing program's mission.
  • Participate in faculty meetings.
  • Plan and oversee student clinical experiences in designated healthcare facilities.
  • Assess student performance in relation to clinical learning outcomes as per Unitek College policies.
  • Provide immediate feedback on clinical performance following observations.
  • Maintain records of clinical attendance and skills assessments, assisting with program data collection.
  • Ensure clinical assignments align with both student and facility requirements.
  • Determine effective methods for observing, instructing, and evaluating students.
  • Assess clinical facilities to ensure compliance with health and safety standards for students.
  • Facilitate ongoing communication with students through scheduled office hours and electronic means.
  • Engage in student advising activities.
Compensation

Pay Range: $55-70/hr

Qualifications

  • Possess a valid, active license from the State Board of Registered Nursing.
  • Hold a Master of Nursing or higher degree from an accredited institution, including coursework in nursing or education, administration, OB, Pediatrics, or Psychiatry.
  • Have a minimum of four years of experience as a registered nurse providing direct patient care.
  • Demonstrate at least one year of clinical experience within the last five years (clinical teaching counts towards direct patient care). Must be clinically competent as defined in CCR Section 1420(c).
  • Expertise in one of the following nursing specialties: Psychiatric, Geriatrics, Med/Surg, Pediatrics, or OB-Gyn.
