Staff Nurse

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Staff Nurse to join our Behavioral Health Department at NYC Health + Hospitals/Harlem Hospital. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the delivery of exceptional healthcare services.
Key Responsibilities- Provide Nursing Care: Perform nursing skills and interventions efficiently, safely, consistently, and cost-effectively to identify and treat responses to actual or potential health problems.
- Assess and Manage Patients: Observe symptoms or changes in patient behavior, identify and manage crisis situations promptly, and initiate appropriate interventions.
- Culturally Sensitive Care: Demonstrate cultural sensitivity and knowledge of the impact of gender, race, ethnicity, asexual orientation, income, etc. on treatment goals and strategies of behavior change.
- Collaborate with Team Members: Demonstrate respect for personal values and belief systems of individuals served, and work collaboratively with other disciplines to provide comprehensive care.
- Stay Up-to-Date with Industry Developments: Demonstrate knowledge of standards of ethical behavior, addiction, the disease process, and addictive behaviors, as well as signs and symptoms of intoxication, dependency, withdrawal, and medical indicators and problems related to addiction.
- A valid New York State license and current registration to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State.
- Holds, or obtains through facility orientation, a valid and current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association (AHA).
