About the Role

Prairie State Energy Campus is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our Corporate Finance and Accounting team as an intern. This is a 12-week program that will provide valuable experience and exposure to the power generation and coal mining industries.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare monthly account reconciliations and assist with treasury functions, including weekly and monthly cash reports.
  • Perform accounts payable and general accounting duties as assigned, including maintaining electronic and archived records.
  • Assist with the evaluation and testing of internal accounting controls and the preparation of ad hoc and other internal reports.
  • Work on special accounting projects, including projects in Accounts Payable, Budgeting/Forecasting, Payroll, Tax, Compliance Assurance, and monthly financial closing processes.
  • Provide support to the Finance team as assigned.
Requirements
  • Enrolled in a college degree program in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • In good academic standing.
  • Available for a 12-week program beginning in late May to mid-August.
