Diagnostic Imaging Opportunities at Boston Children's Hospital

**Job Summary:**

We are seeking a skilled MRI Technologist to join our Diagnostic Imaging team at Boston Children's Hospital. As an MRI Technologist, you will be responsible for performing complex MRI procedures, reviewing and evaluating requisitions, and ensuring the highest level of patient care.

**Responsibilities:**

* Perform MRI procedures on a scheduled and emergency basis, utilizing advanced technical skills and knowledge of MRI technology
* Review and evaluate requisitions for MRI imaging procedures, abstracting data from patient charts and determining appropriateness of procedure prescribed
* Identify patients according to Hospital Policy with 2 identifiers, ensuring accurate and efficient patient care
* Select appropriate equipment and technical parameters to identify pathologic and normal anatomy, maintaining high-quality imaging results
* Assess patients' and parents' physical and emotional status, developing a care plan to meet their specific needs
* Explain the examination and answer questions from patients and parents regarding the exam and Magnetic field environment
* Follow MR QC Exam/Data Integrity workflow expectations, ensuring compliance with hospital policies and procedures
* Practice High Reliability Communication techniques, consistently providing exceptional care and service
* Respond to the uniqueness of the patient, creating a supportive environment for the patient and family
* Identify and report equipment malfunctions through the INeedit application, ensuring prompt resolution
* Assist in organizing and maintaining daily operations, including inventory review and ordering supplies
* Perform additional tasks as delegated by manager or Assistant/Chief Technologist, such as QA/QC projects and equipment repairs
* Fill in for manager or Assistant/Chief Technologist as necessary, monitoring and maintaining daily operations of clinical area
* Act as Board Runner Technologist, championing new equipment or processes
* Participate in precepting new staff and training fellows, residents, students, and staff in imaging procedures and techniques
* Participate in departmental and hospital meetings, staying informed and engaged with hospital initiatives
* Comply with ETU and HIPPA regulations, maintaining confidentiality and security of patient information
* Practice BCH 6 Core Values: excellence, innovation, communication, respect, teamwork, and accountability
* Complete all required competencies and documentation accurately and in a timely manner
* Maintain up-to-date licensure/certification/registration in departmental file
* Further professional education and maintain knowledge of current regulations and standards, policies, and procedures

**Requirements:**

* Registered Radiologic Technologist - MRI
* Associates Degree: Allied Health
* 3 years of experience working as an MRI Technologist
