Key Responsibilities- Administrative Support: Provide highly accountable, confidential support to the City Manager, including preparing and disseminating information to internal and external entities.
- Executive Level Support: Work in an executive level capacity to ensure the smooth operation of daily administrative tasks, including coordinating meetings, preparing agendas, and taking minutes.
- Communication: Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, including City departments, outside agencies, and the public.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, including City records, elections data, and other sensitive information.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with Florida Statute 112, Code of Ethics for Public Officers and Employees, the Broward County Code of Ethics, and the City's Ethics Code.
- Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with executive level staff to ensure the dissemination of information and efficient receipt of responses and reports.
- Correspondence: Generate correspondence, memos, agendas, minutes, orders, requisitions, ordinances, reports, and other relevant materials as needed.
- Customer Service: Respond to written and telephone inquiries and complaints, resolving issues personally or acting as liaison to the City Manager.
- Education: Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university.
- Experience: Five (5) years of experience as a Municipal Clerk or Deputy Clerk, or equivalent experience in a related field.
- Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Certifications: Designation as a Certified Municipal Clerk or Master Municipal Clerk by the International Institute for Municipal Clerks, or equivalent certification.
- Vacation: 80-200 hours per year, depending on length of service.
- Sick and Bereavement Leave: 12 days per year, with unlimited carry-over.
- Holidays: 11 holidays per year.
- Personal Days: 2 personal days and 4 executive leave days per year.
- Insurance: Health, dental, and life insurance, with the City paying 100% of premiums.
- Tuition Reimbursement: 100% reimbursement of State tuition.
- Pension: Membership in the Florida Retirement System (FRS) for all new hires.
