Patient Dining Associates play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care by delivering personalized dining experiences. As a key member of the healthcare team, you will work closely with patients, caregivers, and the culinary team to ensure that meals are accurate, delivered on time, and meet the patient's nutritional needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist patients in making menu selections and work with nursing to ensure that orders comply with nutritional requirements or restrictions.
- Collaborate with the culinary team to determine menu alternatives for patients with food allergies, sensitivities, or cultural, ethnic, and religious preferences.
- Manage tray tickets and assemble meals according to each patient's menu selection in a timely and accurate manner.
- Comply with regulatory agency standards, including federal, state, and JCAHO, and adhere to facility confidentiality and patient rights policies.
- Follow Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) guidelines when handling food, cleaning workstations, and breaking down patient tray lines.
- Assist dietitians with monitoring patients who require special diets or have specific calorie counts.
- Communicate problems or concerns with patients to appropriate personnel in a timely manner.
Requirements:
- Ability to read, write, and interpret documents in English.
- Basic computer and mathematical skills.
- Ability to occasionally lift or move up to 100 pounds and maneuver food delivery carts.
