POSITION SUMMARY:

Penn State College of Medicine is in search of a dedicated surgical pathologist to join our esteemed faculty. This position is designed for a clinician-educator or clinician-scientist on a non-tenure track, and we welcome applicants at all ranks. Our surgical pathology division handles an impressive annual volume of approximately 45,000 cases, complemented by a cytopathology workload of around 10,000 cases.

As part of a fully subspecialized anatomic pathology team, the ideal candidate will engage in a collaborative environment with 42 faculty members across various pathology disciplines. We particularly encourage applications from individuals with expertise in surgical pathology subspecialties such as gastrointestinal, breast, bone/soft tissue, and pediatric pathology.

The successful applicant will contribute to our dynamic department, which is currently expanding and includes a fully accredited residency program with 16 positions and four accredited fellowships. Faculty members are actively involved in medical education at both undergraduate and graduate levels, fostering a rich learning atmosphere.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Medical degree from an accredited institution
  • MD, DO, or equivalent licensed provider
  • Board certification in Anatomic Pathology or Anatomic and Clinical Pathology, with eligibility for medical licensure in the state
