Job Summary

The Human Flourishing Program at Harvard University's Institute for Quantitative Social Science (IQSS) is seeking an Executive Director to oversee all aspects of the program's strategic vision, donor relations, external partnerships, day-to-day operations, and program leadership.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work with the Faculty Director to shape the Program's intellectual, academic, and public mission.
  • Oversee Program hiring and reappointments, interview and provide strategic guidance to Faculty Director on all new hires.
  • Manage all staff-related HR concerns, oversee and manage all building management and IT services as needed.
  • Identify new/additional office space and negotiate real estate or rental contracts as needed.
  • Develop and implement all communications strategy, collaborate and regularly meet with business and civic leaders and strategic partners in business, medicine, education, and government.
  • Supervise the Communications Associate and all academic appointees in implementation of Program communications strategy and opportunities.
  • Oversee Program student engagement and all academic appointees' teaching and student formation activities.
  • Represent the Program at meetings and conferences.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree and 8+ years of progressive administrative management experience.
  • Supervisory experience and ability to operate independently with a strong sense of self-management.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with students, faculty, and staff.
  • Some travel is required (5-10%): Local, Out-of-State, International.
