Position Overview:
In collaboration with the HR Manager, this role delivers essential human resources services to designated operations. Responsibilities encompass, but are not limited to, managing hourly recruitment, implementing employer of choice policies, facilitating employee relations initiatives, and addressing personnel requirements as requested by operational teams.
This position executes HR policies, procedures, and programs across various human resources functions by performing the following duties at the assigned facility.
Key Responsibilities:
Evaluates employee applications, initiates communication with prospective candidates, and conducts interviews to gather work history, educational background, training, job skills, and salary expectations, while providing insights about the organization and available positions.
Assesses and recommends candidates for further interviews or potential employment opportunities within the organization.
Keeps detailed records of personnel transactions, including hires, promotions, transfers, disciplinary actions, terminations, and employee statistics for compliance reporting.
Offers guidance to management on resolving employee relations matters and conducts employee counseling, including disciplinary actions, as necessary.
Implements effective employee relations and communication strategies, applying company policies and procedures consistently to foster positive workplace attitudes and enhance employee understanding and support of organizational strategies.
Prepares separation notices for hourly employees and related documentation, and conducts exit interviews to understand reasons for separations.
Compiles summaries of stay and exit interviews, providing feedback on potential areas for improvement, as requested.
Processes unemployment compensation claims for hourly employees.
Collaborates with management and supervisors to identify hourly staffing needs for the assigned facility and is responsible for the necessary recruitment efforts.
Organizes and conducts assessments for hourly applicants, and performs reference and background checks on candidates considered for employment.
Conducts new hire orientation for hourly employees at the assigned facility to promote a positive attitude towards organizational goals.
Utilizes knowledge of HR information systems (such as UltiPro, Cognos, and YESS) to assist internal users at the assigned facility.
Performs additional duties as assigned.
