Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced professional to serve as an Extension Agent II, 4-H Afterschool Program Director at the University of Delaware. This is a grant-funded position that requires a strong background in youth development, program management, and community engagement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and implement 4-H afterschool programs at designated schools in New Castle County, ensuring high-quality programming and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Recruit, train, and supervise staff and volunteers to deliver program services.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with community partners, stakeholders, and funding agencies to support program growth and sustainability.
  • Monitor program performance, evaluate outcomes, and make data-driven decisions to improve program effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with the University of Delaware Cooperative Extension team to advance the mission and goals of the organization.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, plus four years of experience in extension teaching, research, or related experience.
  • Proven track record of program management, staff supervision, and community engagement.
  • Strong communication, public relations, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and build strong relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of extension and adult education methods, with a focus on youth development and program evaluation.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in a related field.
  • Experience working with 4-H programs and youth development initiatives.
  • Knowledge of Delaware state regulations and policies related to youth development and program management.
