Key Responsibilities:

We are seeking a dynamic individual to spearhead a soft commodities desk, enhancing our existing agriculture offerings. The successful candidate will be tasked with establishing business connections and generating revenue streams for a new desk within the organization. Candidates should possess the ability to analyze and predict commodity market trends, provide strategic advice to clients, make informed decisions, and deliver insightful market commentary.

Specific Duties Include:

  • Onboard clients from institutional, hedge fund, CTA, banking, market-making, and trading house sectors.
  • Effectively leverage existing relationships while cultivating new business opportunities.
  • Manage client relationships with a focus on futures, options, and other related profit/loss drivers.
  • Deliver pertinent market analysis to support clients' hedging and trading decisions.
  • Articulate the business rationale for expanding the desk and identify cross-selling opportunities.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 5+ years of relevant experience.
  • Possession of Series 3/7 licenses or willingness to obtain.
  • A transferable book of business.
  • Strong understanding of futures and options markets.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively.
  • High work ethic with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of composing market and commodity reports.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Analytical mindset, problem-solving skills, and a customer service orientation.

Educational Requirements:

A Bachelor's Degree is required.

Hybrid Working Model: BGC Partners operates a hybrid model for its shared services employees, which includes this role. This model entails three days in the office and two days working remotely.

Compensation: The expected base salary for this position ranges from $90,000 to $100,000. The actual salary will be determined based on various factors, including relevant skills, experience, education, and applicable licenses or certifications. In addition to the base salary, a competitive benefits package is offered, along with potential eligibility for discretionary bonuses and other short- and long-term incentives.
