Position Overview:
In alignment with the needs of subscribing advisors and their affluent clients, the Vice President of Wealth Transfer and Philanthropy will serve as a dedicated resource for the development of Estate and Philanthropic Strategies. In this specialized role, the individual will assess and summarize existing estate plans while proposing innovative strategies and insights tailored to the client's wealth transfer objectives, which will be documented in a comprehensive plan summary. Furthermore, this individual will collaborate with advisors to refine the plans they prepare for client presentations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate clients' existing estate plans to enhance their understanding of the mechanisms at play,
- Gather and assess data regarding clients' wealth transfer aspirations to propose fresh strategies and insights for consideration.
- Ensure thorough completion of all estate and philanthropic planning-related research and data collection, producing deliverables ("Estate & Philanthropic Strategy") and presenting them to advisors and, occasionally, clients.
- Conduct research on specific estate and philanthropic planning inquiries as needed to further assist our advisors and their clientele.
- Exhibit a comprehensive understanding of increasingly sophisticated estate and philanthropic planning concepts while remaining informed about current developments and legislative changes.
- Educate advisors on modern estate and philanthropic planning methodologies and act as a subject matter expert on these topics and potential legal updates.
This role necessitates outstanding customer service capabilities, particularly in verbal and written communication. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strategic thinking, analytical prowess, project management expertise, and exceptional time management skills. The incumbent must effectively balance a collaborative approach with independent initiative across all levels of a dynamic, entrepreneurial, and fast-paced organization. While relevant legal experience is preferred, this position does not involve providing legal counsel or practicing law.
Requirements:
- Juris Doctorate
- 7+ years of experience in trust and estate planning or wealth management
- Advanced certifications preferred: CPA, LLM, CFP
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment encompassing diverse disciplines and product lines
- Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written
- Highly collaborative with experience addressing the needs of affluent and institutional clients
- Strong teamwork, leadership, and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in software/systems: MS Office, Crescendo, Brentmark
$168,800-$253,200/year
Actual base salary may vary based on factors including relevant skills, prior experience, education, internal peer salaries, demonstrated performance, and geographic location.
