We are seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team at eTeam. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and support to our inmates/residents.
Key Responsibilities- Administer medication and perform technical procedures within the scope of your license.
- Assist physicians in examinations and treatments, and maintain accurate medical records.
- Operate pill call, dispense medication, and document patient information as required.
- Control medication, syringes, and other medical supplies, and inventory as needed.
- Perform emergency procedures, including administering basic emergency medical aid.
- Document and report activities in accordance with established policies and procedures.
- Assist with evaluating the provision of medical services and maintaining confidentiality of medical records.
- Monitor potential catastrophic illnesses and audit pharmacy use for adherence to formulary.
- Observe and record inmate/resident behavior, and inspect the medical unit for contraband.
- Prepare and maintain various records, reports, and logs, using appropriate grammar and filing procedures.
- Review reports and records, and process documents in a timely manner.
- Communicate effectively with administration, staff, inmates/residents, visitors, and the general public.
- Help evaluate and recommend physical safety requirements, and facilitate accreditation of the medical program.
- Escorting inmates/residents to and from medical treatment, and initiating investigations and inquiries as directed.
- Current licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse.
- Ability to work rotating shifts and physically check doors, windows, and other areas for security.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to handle difficult situations.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
