We are seeking a skilled Millwright to join our team at the Red Dog Mine in AK. As a Millwright, you will be responsible for constructing, installing, and maintaining heavy machinery and equipment in an industrial environment.
Key Responsibilities- Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of environmental risks and hazards, and comply with safety policies and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with all established policies and standard operating procedures, and advise coworkers and visitors of such policies and procedures as required.
- Install, maintain, dismantle, and overhaul machinery, such as heavy mechanical equipment and conveyor systems.
- Perform routine maintenance on port conveyor belts.
- Inspect and examine machinery and equipment to detect and find irregularities and malfunctions, and install and troubleshoot equipment.
- Complete routine tasks such as lubrication of machinery, seal replacement, and preventative maintenance.
- Operate forklift, boom truck (optional), and other port equipment when required.
- Provide building and facility repair, such as plumbing, carpentry, troubleshooting, and replace and repair.
- Ensure all tools and equipment are maintained and kept in a clean and orderly condition.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent, or ten (10) years Millwright experience will be considered.
- Minimum one (1) year directly related experience in the construction industry required.
- Must be able to work cooperatively with others.
- Must have the ability to manage time independently with limited supervision.
- Must possess good communication skills.
- Must be committed to safety.
- Must have the ability to train apprentices.
- Must be able to perform labor-intensive work when required.
- Must be able to work day or night shifts as required.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions and extreme cold.
