Cath Lab Technologist Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Cath-Lab Technologist to join our team at HCA Healthcare's Alaska Regional Hospital in Anchorage, AK. As a Cath-Lab Technologist, you will aid with all invasive cardiac, vascular and interventional procedures, demonstrating clinical competency, nursing judgment, teaching skills, and a commitment to providing quality patient care.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist with all testing and therapeutics that takes place in the Cath lab.
  • Facilitate effective communication among departmental staff to ensure interdisciplinary and collaborative approach to patient care.
  • Assist the patient through all aspects of the procedure, including transport, site preparation, sterile procedure, patient monitoring, and hemostasis following removal of catheter or sheath, and return to room.
  • Maintain accurate, timely and compliant patient records.
  • Demonstrate an ability to be flexible, organized and function well under stressful situations.

Requirements:
  • American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support Course (BLS or BCLS) and Certification.
  • American Red Cross or American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certified (ACLS) within six months of hire.
  • Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES), or Registered Radiographer (ARRT).

Additional Information:
Shift times: 7a - 7:30p (12 hour shifts). Must have experience - ARRT/RCIS cert preferred. Open to reviewing CVOR/CST with strong Vascular/IR experience. Experience Scrubbing, Monitoring, and Circulating required. 4yrs Cath/IR experience strongly preferred. No mapping experience needed (performed by 3rd party company). Unit Beds/ rooms: 3 rooms, average 4-6 procedures per day.

Compensation:
The starting rate is $38.48/hr. Evenings - 7% differential. Nights - 10% differential. Weekends - $2.00/hr differential. There is also a Certification Pay Benefit. Staff can add an additional $1.00/hr for Techs and $2.00/hr for RNs if they have an approved certification.
