Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Seasonal Resource Assistant. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the State of Connecticut's geological survey efforts and gain valuable experience in field mapping and data collection.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in conducting field mapping activities throughout Connecticut, including data collection and geologic site database maintenance.
  • Support the production of authoritative geosciences data and mapping, including digital data production and map compilation.
  • Contribute to the improvement of the Connecticut digital geologic framework, including GIS data and collections management.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; background in geosciences and GIS preferred.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work independently.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with ArcGIS Online, ArcPro, FieldMaps, and Adobe Illustrator.
  • Knowledge of geologic principles and mapping techniques.
  • Ability to lift and carry equipment and supplies.
Working Conditions

Incumbents in this class must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities. Must be able to lift and carry equipment and supplies, and work in a variety of weather conditions.
